What: AI powered search has been on our minds since we looked at how web traffic, page views and eventually revenue will be impacted by the deployment of AI to internet tools. For now there are only a few AI powered search chatbots and this week we looked at Perplexity and Bing.
Key points:
Technological Duel: 🤖
Perplexity AI wields GPT-3 and introduces Copilot mode with GPT-4.
Bing Chat exclusively relies on the formidable GPT-4.
Operational Dynamics: 🔄
Both platforms offer browser and mobile app functionality.
Mobile access varies, with Perplexity AI allowing GPT-3 usage without signup, while Bing Chat requires a Microsoft account for iOS.
Performance Faceoff: ⚡
Perplexity AI excels in speed, with quick responses using GPT-3.
Bing Chat adopts a cautious approach, resulting in a slower response time.
Noteworthy: It seems the adoption of these tools is slow, but steady. Perplexity is in the top 10 productivity apps on mobile stores.
Our team is honored to be amongst titans. Your curiosity and support got us here. Thank you!
